The Symposium on Games in Academia celebrates the myriad connections between games and university activity, including games-related research, the use of games in the classroom, and games for community engagement and health.
The Symposium will include 15-minute scholarly presentations and a Games Showcase. You can find the agenda, presentation abstracts, and games showcase descriptions this site.
This year's Symposium will feature a closing keynote address by noted Indiana-based game designer Isaac Childres, founder of Cephalofair Games and designer of Forge War, Gloomhaven, and the upcoming Founders of Gloomhaven.
The 2017 Symposium on Games in Academia is supported through the College of Sciences and Humanities at Ball State University. The Symposium is being organized by the Serious Games Knowledge Group at Ball State University. Please send any questions to Paul Gestwicki.
About the 2015 Symposium
In Fall 2015, we organized our first symposium, which was attended by almost 100 people, including faculty, staff, students, and community members. We are excited to build on that experience to make this year's event even better!
